Today is an important day. We have published the program of our Far Eastern Movement for the Independence of Zelenyi Klyn — a document we have worked on for a long time and taken very seriously. Now everyone can read it in Russian, Ukrainian, and English.
Why Do We Need a Program at All?
Some may ask why the Far Eastern Movement for the Independence of Zelenyi Klyn needs a program. We could have gotten by with slogans. “Freedom,” “independence,” “our own land” — they sound good, but explain nothing. And we want people to understand exactly what they are fighting for, rather than simply taking our word for it.
That is why we sat down and wrote a plan — how the government will be organized, who will declare independence and how, what the economy will look like, what will happen to the security forces, and how we will protect the rights of Ukrainians, Nivkhs, Udege, Nanai, Evenks, Ulch, Oroch, and all other peoples of the Far East. Not vague statements, but specific answers.
What the Program Is About
In short — everything that truly matters for the future of the state:
Values — freedom, government by the people, and a Far Eastern identity that unites rather than divides.
Government Structure — a parliamentary republic, decentralization, independent courts, and the right to recall an official who has failed to live up to the public’s trust.
How We Gain Independence — under what conditions independence is declared, who declares it, how the transitional government operates, and how long it has to do its work.
Economy — agriculture (we have more black soil than Poland — yes, seriously), resource extraction and processing, and investment.
Our Place in the World — Vladivostok as Asia’s logistics hub, partnerships with Ukraine, the EU, the United States, Japan, Korea, and Australia, and membership in the UN and other international organizations.
People — healthcare, education, support for young people, and return programs for those who want to come home.
Language and Culture — Ukrainian and Indigenous languages as official state languages.
Digital State — personal data protection based on the European GDPR model and digital services, like those in Estonia.
Who It Is For
For the Far Easterner who is tired of feeling like a resident of a distant province. For a Nivkh, Udege, or Nanai person whose land and language need protection right now. For a descendant of Ukrainian settlers — wherever they may live, whether in Vladivostok or Canada. And even for the skeptic who reads it and thinks, “Sounds nice, but it will never happen.” We understand that skepticism. But people thought the same about Finland’s independence and Ireland’s success — and they made it work.
We Don’t Expect Everyone to Agree — and That’s Okay
A program that nobody argues with is not a program — it is an obituary. We are ready to hear criticism, additions, and disagreement. Honest debate within the movement is more important than performative unanimity. If you have comments or concerns — write to us, discuss them, argue with us.
